Roberta Edwards is a Christian American woman who arrived in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, eight years ago. Having completed a Bachelors degree from a Christian college in the 1980's, she left her career and her native North Carolina to serve in Haiti. Because of her love for God and her heart for His little children, she now has ten children (orphaned or abandoned) that she is raising in her "children's home," ages six (6) months and up. She feeds forty-four children twice a day, five days a week, in her Nutrition Center (440 meals weekly). She also home schools the 10 children living with her using an American curriculum. |

Through extremely lean years, she has been confident of God's loving kindness and never wavered in the validity of her mission. There have been many days when she had no idea where food or money was coming from to feed the children she just knew it would come. By living with Roberta, these ten children have escaped living on the streets and/or dying from neglect. Malnutrition or starvation awaits the other forty-four children without the Nutrition Center. They return home to their family at the end of the day having been fed a meal they would have otherwise never received. |
