For years, Haitian church leaders, U.S missionaries, and supporters of God's work in Haiti had prayed about forming a foundation to establish a preacher's training school. As a result the Haitian Christian Foundation (HCF) was founded in 1993.

After raising the necessary funds, building the campus, selecting onsite U.S. missionaries, and selecting the first student body, HCF opened in January 1997 and is now under the leadership of David Dirrim. The student body consists of twelve men who go through a three-year mentoring and academic program to serve as local ministers. The first class graduated in January 2000, the second class in 2003.

Beacon Light Ministries has funded major additions to the school library, which is available to current students, graduates and area preachers. Beacon Light Ministries has also funded fixtures and furnishings in the new dining hall/dormitory building and a new truck. It has helped in taking the students out for evangelization in Lagosette, going to the market, hauling lumber and many other big jobs.

Designed for third-world use, the truck is very basic and heavy-duty. It has a clever ventilation system
that keeps the cab breezy, even when the windows are closed to keep out the dust.
